Doctors advised MP Betty Nambooze to have enough rest over the next five days.

The ill health of Nambooze, suspended Democratic Party Vice Chairperson for Buganda Region lead to Friday’s cancellation of a planned meeting for the opposition party in Luweero district.

Nambooze was hit by a supposed rubber bullet during running battles in Masaka, where a similar meeting had been organized over the weekend. She was discharged from Nsambya Hospital yesterday

The usually vocal Mukono Municipality legislator that now leads ‘Bad DP’ was expected but didn’t show t Valley Inn, Wobulenzi today by 10am as a guest speaker, alongside Masaka Municipality MP Mathias Mpuuga and Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Seggona among others.

Enthusiastic Democratic Party supporters had started gathering at the venue amid heavy police deployment. However, Erasto Kibirango, the district party chairperson said they received a communication indicating that Nambooze was not in shape to attend the meeting.

Kibirango adds that as result Nambooze asked them to reschedule the meeting to Saturday May, 6 2017.

Edward Kyaligonza the Savannah Regional Police Commander says they will deploy again on Saturday.
