President Museveni has extended the tenure of the Commission of Inquiry into land matters by 18 months.
This follows the expiry of the second term of the commission’s mandate yesterday which also made a year since its inception on 9th May 2018.
The President made some changes in which he appointed Dr. Douglas Singiza as the Commission’s new Secretary replacing Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya who was recently appointed a Judge of the High court.
Daniel Rutiba was appointed Deputy Secretary, Susan Jagata was appointed Deputy Lead Counsel and Andrew Odit was appointed as the Assistant Lead Counsel of the Land Probe Commission
According to the Commission’s Chair Justice Catherine Bamugemereire, the renew of the Commission’s Term and the subsequent appointments were done in accordance with the Commissions Terms of Reference.
Justice Bamugemereire pledged to uphold the mandate entrusted to them.
