Dr. Eng. Micheal Odongo Okune, current Uganda Road Fund Executive Director has been accused of secretly plotting to oust Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii, serving Lango Paramount chief.

The Lango (plural Langi) people live in Lango sub-region in the north-central area of Uganda, north of Lake Kyoga. Lango sub-region comprises the districts of Alebtong, Amolatar, Apac, Dokolo, Lira, Kole, Oyam and Otuke.

In a well planned overthrew, Dr. Okune and other Apac topguns have been holding clandestine meetings over how to make sure that Mzee Ebii before his term of office expires in 2017.

They also plan to split Lango kingdom into two halves with all clan chiefs from Lango East that consists of Otuke, Alebtong, Dokolo and Lira districts are mobilizing locals to demand for the spilt of the largest cultural union in Northern Uganda (Abila a’Lango).

According to a reliable source, the spilt is down to the power struggle between Mzee Ebii and a clique of clan chiefs who feed out of Dr. Okune’s fat pockets that are oiled by money from the Road Fund – one of the agencies President Museveni generously allocates trillions to.

The Lango premier Dr. Richard Nam is also cited in the power struggle, heading the pro-Okune camp.

TheUgandan understands that clan chiefs from Lango West districts are instead fronting former Museveni Minister for Lands, Daniel Omara Atubo to to challenge Dr. Okune’s accession to the throne because they feel there will not be any change and impact in the Lango sub-region once the flamboyant engineer is elected new Paramount Chief.

Omara Atub0’s 2012 attempt to wrestle the Won Nyaci seat to himself crashed like a bundle of cards.
