The owners of Mild Care Parent’s School in Munyonyo are considering to sue parents of a pupil (name withheld) who was allegedly defiled by the school’s bus driver Musa Matovu.
Bukedde newspaper on Sunday reported that the driver allegedly defiled a Primary One pupil as he was dropping the child to her home last week on Friday.
However, when TheUgandan sent a reporter to the school on Wednesday morning to do a follow uo of exactly what happened, the school’s lawyer Patrick Mugisha refuted the allegations and said that the school is investigating the matter.
“The matter is at Police and they are still investigating but as a school we are carrying out our investigation because these are serious and damaging allegations to the school but we are considering to sue parents,” Mugisha explained.
The driver is still in police custody at Katwe Police station.
Mild Care has sections of Kindergarten, Nursery and Primary with a total population of over 1,300 pupils and with over 10 Buses and Vans that pick and drop pupils in Day.
In the Luganda daily’s story, the school reportedly disowned Matovu but the lawyer confirmed that he is their employee.
Many schools in and around Kampala pick and drop children using either private or school’s means.
The story shocked many parents who wondered if their children are safe between school and home.
