Sadolin 0-0 Vipers, Bugembe Jinja

Struggling club Sadolin Paints forced giants Vipers SC to a goalless draw during Friday’s Uganda Premier League clash at Bugembe Stadium in Jinja.

Displaying a new-found defensive solidity, the hosts restricted Vipers well although Tony Odur should have scored with a close-range header.

Mubiru was without injured forward Erisa Ssekisambu, the club’s top scorer, and midfielder Siraje Ssentamu while Bashir Mutanda and returning William Wadri failed to fill the void.

Wadri actually saw a late header hit the bar for the visitors, while substitute Musa Esenu’s low volley rolled just wide.

Samadu Musafiri’s Sadolin still flirting with relegation were less effective going forward and managed just a few shots on target.

However, they will welcome their third point since September against a free-scoring Vipers side who were held to their second successive draw away from home in the League.

The disastrous result leaves Vipers on 20 points in second place yet maximum points would have ensured they close the widening gap between runaway leaders KCCA (25 points).
