Armed presence remains high at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Wandegeya, Kampala a day after they were partially gutted by fire.

Eyewitness reports reveal that Police is heavily deployed there as investigations over the fire that broke out yesterday are not interfered with.

Meanwhile, those who had come to office have been asked to go back home or wait by the state minister for primary health care, Dr Joyce Kaducu. The usually jolly minister said: “As MoH we are giving police a chance to conduct its investigations but for now as you (the workers) should be patient and will be allowed to occupy your respective offices after the Police are done.”

She added: “We had talked to the Police and they have allowed us to have only employees with urgent assignments have been allowed to access the premises.”

The Ministry of Health spokesperson Vivian Sserwanja says the investigations are expected to take a shortest time so that business resumes.

Sserwanja adds that other floors that were not affected are being cleaned so that employees can resume their work.
