The election of Uganda’s representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly has been amplified by Hon. Fred Mukasa Mbidde Democratic Party’s deputy president and pick for the tight race.
Mukasa Mbidde invited to the podium! MPs chant ‘Twagala Mbidde nga ssente’ loosely translated as ‘We love Mbidde like we love money.’
He once again wove in a tough vocabulary as he campaigned on Tuesday in reference attacks by the Uganda Young Democrats, the youthful wing of the party who have for weeks argued that his table is already full and he should step down from the DP deputy seat.
Mukasa Mbidde addressing plenary earlier said, “I am not going to take your welcome for granted.”
“We have campaigned as parties but the job before us is a diplomatic job. The political party is Uganda.”
“I have consistently stated that I will not kowtow in their poohoo.”
“I cant kowtow…” means he cannot submit to their subversive talk. He cannot humble himself and obey their demands.
“….in their poohoo..” means useless cries of pain.
