The Kampala Capital City Authority technical and political wings have met in a bid to resolve the current impasse between the two sides.

Kampala Minister, Beti Kamya convened the meeting which was attended by KCCA Executive Director, Jenifer Musisi, city councillors and division mayors.

However, Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago was no show.

Lukwago sent his political assistant and lawyer to deliver a statement to the meeting.

When Kamya announced plans to convene the meeting early this month, Lukwago argued that she was not fit to chair it because she is part of the problem.

Lukwago has often accused Kamya of usurping his powers as lord mayor.

Kamya said the meeting listened and will write back to the lord mayor.

She said the meeting agreed to end the impasse between the groups.

The meeting set a committee to draft resolutions of the meeting, which will be presented to the council for adoption.

Kamya said the resolutions will be ready by end of this week.

Both proposals from the technical wing and political wing, Kamya said, were discussed and adopted.
