Goals from Derrick Nsibambi as early as nine minutes into the game, a Tito Okello brace, Allan ‘Dancing Rasta’ Kateregga, Samuel Sekamatte and Patrick Kaddu gave a much-changed KCCA side a 6-0 Uganda Premier League win at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo.

The victory surpasses the 4-1 KCCA FC subjected Onduparaka to and URA’s 4-0 win over BUL at Namboole. It takes Mike Mutebi’s team to fourth on the 16 team log with 13 points, three behind leaders Police, and the six goals also confirm them as the highest scoring team in the league with 15 and just five conceded.

Rivals Sports Club Villa Jogoo and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club played to a goal-less draw at the Mandela National National stadium.

Villa, 16-time Ugandan champions now drop to 5th on the log with 12 points. URA gets to 9 points and are currently 11th on the table standings.

In Jinja, Kirinya Jinja SS FC suffered a 1-0 defeat to Soana in the league encounter at Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe, thanks to an Allan Kayiwa goal and meant Charles Ayiekoh’s men have lost at home for the first time this season and remain in 8th position on 11 points whereas Soana moves from the drop zone to 12th on 9 points

Onduparaka also spanned the opportunity to return to the top of the table after being held goalless by Bul in Jinja on Friday. Victory would have seen the West Nile side leapfrog Police by a point to 17, but now they only move to 15 and drop to third on the log. Bul are 11th with just nine points from eight matches.

Poor travelers Vipers coached by Portuguese tactician Miguel Da Costa surprisingly made rookies Mbarara City lose their home unbeaten record in top flight football when they lost 1-0 at Kakyeka Stadium. Congolese forward Moussa Mbayi’s 78th minute goal in this ill-tempered match came after Tony Odur’s effort was parried into the striker’s path by goalkeeper Ali Kimera.

But with large holes in the net, the forward’s effort went through with most of the home crowd believing the ball had gone wide.

Luckily for Vipers, Azam Uganda official Thadeus Kitandwe quickly provided match officials with the video replay amidst contestation from the home crowd.

Basing on the replay, the officials awarded the goal two minutes later despite the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) System not being applicable in Uganda yet.

The Uganda league returns on Tuesday with strugglers Masavu looking to salvage points off Ibrahim Kirya’s URA in Entebbe.
