Veteran radio presenter Marcus Kwikiriza has claimed he is retiring.

He has suddenly quit his job at Kismenti based Capital Radio to  have breakfast with his family.

Marcus, who has spent two decades in on and off radio jobs and has been the lead on Capital’s Big Breakfast crew with Oulanya and Jackie here they’ve dominated ratings across the country.

But he has now confirmed he left the station and announced that his last appearance will be on Thursday, 6th 2017.

Marcus emotionally revealed on Tuesday: “My last show here is soon as I embark on a new chapter in life. And I will not be joining another station.”

Besides spending time with his wife Amber and two sons, Marcus has to attend to his firms Blackstar Entertainment and Imara African Coffee, jobs as Reserve Brand Ambassador at Uganda Breweries Limited  (Johnnie Walker Ambassadorship) and working up ratings for the NBS TV show ‘Another Round’.

Marcus in a statement added: “What started as a vocational job in S6 vac back in ‘98 (Sanyu Radio) has ended up giving me a very fulfilling career and opening more opportunities than I can care to admit. It’s been 18 years of active radio work taking to me to 3 countries and 7 different radio stations.”

“The time has come to hung up the M.I.C…..(at least the one for radio).

“To everyone that I have worked with in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, I thank you all for helping me improve my craft. Besides my home town Kla, I feel welcome in all 3 countries thanks to all of you.

“To my latest family of @91.3 Capital FM, thanks for an amazing 5 years. All of you will forever be family. Especially Jackie Nake Lumbasi and Jimmy Okoth. Thanks for helping us rock the breakfast airwaves for 5 solid years. Keeping at number 1 isn’t easy and you have made it possible by hard work and consistency. Keep on keeping on guys….

“UBL & NBS TV still remaining addresses I can be found at. Not to mention Blackstar Entertainment and Imara African Coffee.

“Countdown is on to last radio show on Dec 15th.

“One love y’all.
