Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura has revealed that the combined team of police and officers from the Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force (JATT) raided Nakasero Mosque to retrieve evidence connected to the the murder of UPDF soldier Sheikh Major Muhammad Kiggundu.
The officers stormed the mosque on Plot 4 Snay bin Amin Street in Kampala in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and ransacked it and picked up computers and vital documents.
“We were tipped off by a suspect that there was evidence connecting to the death of Maj. Kiggundu,” Gen. Kayihura explained on Wednesday.
However, Nakasero Mosque leaders haved ask IGP Kayihura to present the ‘said evidence’ his officers retrieved from the mosque and also return back their money worth UGX27m.

Maj Kiggundu was shot dead together with his bodyguard by unidentified gunmen riding on two motorcycles at Masanafu, a Kampala suburb on November 26th.
Several people including Muslim clerics have been arrested as police continue to search for the killers.
