The Commander in Chief of the armed forces, General Yoweri Museveni has appointed Maj Gen James Nakibus Lakara (55) as the new Deputy Chief Coordinator, Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
Maj Lakara takes over the void left by the sudden demise of Maj Gen Julius Facki Oketta. Oketta died last Saturday at Kadic hospital, Bukoto, a Kampala surburb, due to suspected cardiac arrest. He was 60.
His final assignment with OWC, the soldier-led initiative to improve household incomes, had given him an admiration for coffee farmers, a trade that he wanted to popularize in his native Acholi land.

His new deputy Nakibus was recalled from Somalia where he had been for one and half years as Deputy Force Commander of the African Union Mission in Somalia in charge of Support and Logistics.
