Magogo runs to court to save Fufa job from Walusimbi onslaught

Embattled local football governing body Fufa President Moses Magogo has petitioned the High court in Kampala seeking an injunction stopping the registered trustees of Federation of Uganda Football Association(Fufa) from further attacking him.

Mr Magogo wants the trustees led by the former Uganda Cranes footballer Daniel Walusimbi and other disgruntled ex – footballers to be blocked from interfering with the on-going business at Fufa, holding out as managers of all fedeartion assets, making defamatory statements against the Fufa establishment and making any form of communication to existing FUFA sponsors, CAF, FIFA until the disposal of the main suit.

Last week, Walusimbi led a group of ex-footballers to Fufa house in what was the latest attempt to unseat the current Moses Magogo led federation that he believes is holding office illegally.

The attempt to force their way into Fufa house followed last week’s attack that needed police intervention after the group vandalised property as they tried to force their way into the premises.

Through Ochieng Associated Advocates and Solicitors, Magogo says Walusimbi and his group should be ordered 100 metres away from any known asset, property, any activity or scheduled program of Fufa, because their recent actions have greatly affected the preparation forhe Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon next year.

Magogo says unless they are reprimanded and permanently restrained from further insensitiveness, the nation shall risk dire sanctions from the world football governing body FIFA.

According to court documents, on 14th this month Walusimbi mobilized others and stormed the official headquarters of FUFA at Mengo claiming to be the office bearers and demanded that the President and other staff vacate the building, on top of destroying property therein.

Now Magogo contends that he has sought court’s intervention because the same group is threatening to burn the building incase him and his staff do not vacate the premises, at a time when the federation is working over speed to prepare for AFCON.
