He will laid to rest @ 4pm at Wamala in Kawempe

A funeral service in honor of veteran sports commentator Andrew Patrick Luwandaga is taking place this morning at Namirembe Cathedral where a crowd has gathered at the entrance.

The mourners inside the church represented an amalgamation of Luwandagga’s life, from childhood friends to businessmen, from government officials to army officials, – sports fans to celebrated journalists.

It has been a whopping 42 years of service by Luwandagga to the national broadcaster. And through-out that time, he is praised for being a focal point in the development of good TV producers and reporters.

As a master of ceremonies (MC), Luwandagga was probably second to none. At a number of music concerts, Luwandagga was MC, especially those involving Afrigo band, with which he had a special affinity.

According to a post mortem report, he died of natural causes. Luwandagga will laid to rest this evening (4pm) at Wamala in Wakiso district.
