The Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and a section of councilors led by Kawempe Counselor Mohammed Seggirinya have petitioned the President Museveni seeking to impeach Kampala Minister Beti Kamya.

The Kampala leaders argue that Ms Kamya is not fit to carry on her duties.

They are asking the President who is the appointing authority to consider relieving Kamya of her duties because of her “incapability”.

“We have had seven council meetings and she has never attended one but when she looks at our agenda, she comes up with her own conclusion without seeking our views,” Sseggirinya said.

While appearing on a talk show on one of the local TVs recently Mr Lukwago said that the Kampala minister is “an amateur” on Kampala issues and promised to take her through lectures .

This comes days after Ms Kamya wrote to the Minister of Finance, Matia Kasaija halting the Lord Mayor’s payment of Shs560m.

We wait to see where the battle will
