A-level vacists gets to basics with Victoria University

Euphuistic Senior six leavers were recently equipped with essentials and basic knowledge while choosing the higher institutions of learning by officials of one of Uganda’s best private institutions, Victoria University.

The orientation which took place at Kampala Parents School auditorium had a gathering of several A-level vacists from Nabingo Girls, Nabisunsa Girls, kololo Senior Secondary School, Greenhill Academy, Kibuli SS, Crane High School Kitintale among others who interacted with VU’s Dean of Health Sciences Professor Steven Lawoko.

It was organised under the theme “Long Term, Academic, And Career Success, and Critical Thinking to Make Informed Decision” and was aimed at helping youngsters transform their lives by acquiring the right life skills which are essential in human growth.

Prof. Lawoko advised the vacists to always prioritize and fight to be the best if they are to become successful in life.

The day’s motivational speakers included Mr. Oluma Kennedy (Ag. Secretary General of Uganda Federal Alliance), Professeur Sumil Novembrietta (Director to Institute of Social research and former Deputy Vice Chancellor-KIU), Doreen Kanyesigye (Motivational speaker), Guild President Mariah Peggy Nabunya, Miss Victoria University 2018-2019 Namuli Precious Priscilla, Olinga John Paul- Alumni representative.

The students were equipped with   different key topics that were presented by prof Novembrietta Sumil on Generation ad Critical Thinking Skills, Mr. Oluma Kennedy presented Goal Setting For a Successful Career.

The participants were taken through the art of public speaking and presentation, personal grooming and branding, choices and decision making, financial literacy, talent and alternative careers, life planning and Self-leadership.
