The disgraced son of Internal Security Organisation Director General Col (retired) Frank Bagyenda Kaka appeared in court today for the mention of his murder case.
But Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s court presided over by Grade One Magistrate Margaret Aanyu further remanded Bagyenda to Luzira, where he will spend two more weeks.
Bagyenda, 29, a pharmacist, appeared together with two co-accused Innocent Bainomugisha (24), a cleaner and Vincent Rwahwire (28), a casual labourer.
His remand was prompted by State prosecutor, Joyce Anyango, informing court that investigations were incomplete.
“Your worship, investigations into the case are still on going. I therefore pray that you give us another mention of the case,” Anyango said.
The prosecution states that on January 4, 2016, at Njobe Road in Nakawa Division, Kampala, Bagyenda with two accomplices, murdered his girlfriend Enid Twijukye, a student of International Relations at Ndejje University, whose body was dumped in Seeta in Mukono District.
Bagyenda allegedly told the investigating officers at Jinja Road Police Station that his first statement about how his lover had robbed him of Shs4 million was not true. “I killed her because I loved her so much that I could not allow her to get married to a Rastafarian. I learnt of her other man from the messages they were exchanging and what pissed me off mostly was Enid fixing a day to take the Rastafarian to meet her parents in Kiruhura instead of me,” he reportedly told cops on Tuesday, just hours before he was taken to court to be charged with the 22 year-old lover’s murder.
He told cops about how their relationship had hit the rocks some how and Enid decided to hook up with another man (Rastafarian) who she met on social networking site, Facebook.
In December 2015, Bagyenda says they made up and started planning to get married but because his girlfriend was yet to finalise her studies at university, the couple decided to delay the whole process.
He went on to narrate how Enid had slept over at his home in Mutungo near Luzira on the night of January 4, and while she was asleep e read all the messages in her phone and realised she had again started sleeping with the Rastafarian. The younger Bagyenda was all filled with rage but let her leave on January 5th to her sister’s home in Buto, Bweyogerere who is married to a senior security officer with the Chieftaincy Of Military Intelligence (CMI).
That very day, he called the deceased’s friends, narrated to them the story and later recalled her to his home where he and his co-accused (the shamba boys) tortured her to force reveal information pertaining her Rastafarian lover’s whereabouts but unfortunately died in the process.
The trio were stuck until they agreed to dump it in Namanve – a place near her sister’s home.
Enid Twijukye’s body was discovered by Police after stench covered the Namanve area and attracted locals to search for where it was coming from before finding the deceased’s decomposing body. Dr. Bagyenda was arrested after several phone tracks and her alleged killers were netted.
