The body was buried in the farm belonging to former Makerere University Chancellor now Kabale University Chancellor Prof Mondo Kagonyera’s farm in Bira, Kireka in Wakiso district.

In a chilling confession the murderer also confessed to have accidentally killed Andrew whom he said had known for years and has been his friend.

“I picked Andrew last Thursday in the evening as he was headed for night lessons at his school,” Kyagulanyi narrated and I told him to escort me to Nankubadde where I got a job as a porter on the building and later in the night we came back and I kept him at home till night.”

“At around 9pm, I told him to go back home but not to tell his parents and my Aunt where they rent, that I had kept him from attending evening lessons.

“Andrew refused and told me that he was to report me to my Aunt whom I feared because I have some issues with her and as we struggled, I grabbed his neck and he died instantly.

“I first thought he had just fainted and I poured water on him but he could not talk or shake and in fear I carried the body and buried in the swamp to evade arrest.”

Kyangulanyi also explained that later on he called his mum after some days asking for Sh1.5million, saying that he had her son with him and wanted to use the money to bury the body to a safer place.
