Martin Mpuuga’s 2016 deadline slalom to a better shot at playing time has finally reached a (thankfully) positive end: He has been acquired by Uganda Police FC alongside fours players on loan from defending champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club.

The relationship between KCCA and Police is well established – and the subject of its own section over at We Are Both Funded by Government. Hitting the well-traveled path to the Kasasiro Boys’ cousins wasn’t what the rumor mill had in mind for Mpuuga, who was linked to Lweza, Soana, Jinja Municipal Council Hippos, and several other teams during the course of the half season.

Notwithstanding of Mpuuga and, new Police FC Coach Abdallah Mubiru has reunited with three of the players he was so attached to while in charge of KCCA. Hakim Ssenkumba and Yasin Mugume were integral to Mubiru’s team in 2014 and 2015 taking part in the Cecafa championship in Rwanda and the Caf Champions League besides impressing in the league.

Outcast left back Brian Ochwo and young defender Paul Willa who played for Mubiru’s Masaza team last year complete the five loanees to Police FC.

Willa has been on loan at Fufa Big League side Maroons.

Mubiru highly hopes the acquired players will be of great value in thirteenth placed Police FC’s attempt to survive relegation as they bring experience into the team.
