Uganda’s Total CAF Champions League representative Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) will this evening at 8pm attempt to knock off Africa’s champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
KCCA’s head coach Mike Mutebi said in a press conference that they do not fear Mamelodi but respect them.
“Of course we are playing Africa’s champions and we respect them but we do not fear them and we came here to get a positive result,” Mutebi said.
Cranes goalkeeper Dennis Masinde Onyango who plays for the South African side warned his teammates to be cautious of the visitors saying that they should not treat KCCA as underdogs.
“The fact that we are playing them is enough to know that they have the credentials to play at this level and they will definitely cause us problems,” said Onyango.
Mamelodi does not usually slip up at home and KCCA finds troubles winning away from home.
The Kasasiro Boys will rely on veteran striker Geoffrey Sserunkuuma to get vital away goals.
The return leg will be at Philip Omondi stadium in Kampala next week on Friday.
