The Court of Appeal today commences a session to hear criminal appeals resulting from cases which were handled by the Anti-corruption court.
This session is to be presided over by Justices Geoffrey Kiryabwire, Stephen Musota and Justice Percy Tuhaise
Among the notable cases is that of the former Principal Accountant in the Prime Minister’s Office Geoffrey Kazinda who was jailed for 5 years last year on charges of Abuse of office and forging his former boss’ signature.
Justice Lawrence Gidudu of the Anti-Corruption Court found Kazinda and three others guilty of embezzling more than Shs 316 million meant for fuel for the post-war reconstruction scheme in Northern Uganda and
Karamoja sub-region under the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan.
