Edith Byanyima, a sister to Winnie Byanyima, the wife of former Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate, Kizza Besigye, has finally appeared at the Special Investigations Directorate at Kireka for questioning.
She was called upon to appear at the SID for interrogation and later make a statement regarding Police investigations into a case of promoting sectarianism and incitement to violence in regards to the Akena murder case.
But she snubbed police requests for her presence by saying she had other important engagements to attend to.
Byanyima is alleged to have uttered the statements after a group of legislators and relatives of Kenneth Akena attacked her and her sister Winnie Byanyima for turning up at the High Court to stand surety for Matthew Kanyamunyu, his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu who are accused of killing Akena.
