Youthful Biryomumeisho Mark and Tayebwa Anne won Aerolinks air tickets to fly from Kihihi Airstrip to Entebbe after coming first in the inaugural Ishasha Uganda Wild run

The duo beat competition from seasoned runners in the fun competition organised by Kinkiizi Tourism Club, a conversation group.

At the handover ceremony on Sunday, Tourism minister Hon Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi hailed the Kinkiizi community for supporting tourism initiatives which has made the sector to thrive.

He however said that there is need for aggressive tourism marketing so that the number of visitors to Uganda National parks increase.

Kanungu is home to world famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and many birds such as hornbills and turacos. It is most notable for the 340 Bwindi gorillas, half of the world’s population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas.
