The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is partnering with African CEO Magazine, a leading New York City-based Pan-African media company, to host the Uganda International Business and Investment Summit in Kampala from 23rd to 25th May 2024.
Recent times, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, have brought new challenges for Ugandan businesses and how they access financing. This Summit aims to address these hurdles by creating fresh opportunities.
Focus on Growth and Collaboration
The Summit will connect Ugandan businesses and impact investors with regional and international markets. This will open doors to diverse funding sources, valuable networks, and the potential to scale up their operations.
Lydia Thomas, Event Coordinator and Executive Director of the African CEO Media Corporation, highlights the Summit’s goal: “This event is about building partnerships, expanding opportunities, and attracting new investments to Uganda and the East African region. We’ll bring together investors from the private sector and connect them with policymakers and other stakeholders to create investor-friendly policies and a thriving business environment.”
A Gathering of Key Players
The Summit expects over 500 participants, including Ugandan entrepreneurs, investors, development finance institutions, financial service providers, business leaders, SMEs, and more. Political leaders, economists, journalists, international organizations, and NGOs will also be present. Through main sessions and side events, these attendees will discuss regional and international business opportunities for Ugandan businesses and the overall financial ecosystem.
Outcomes for Ugandan Success
“Inspiring Ugandan entrepreneurs with success stories and business models from across Africa and the globe is a key focus of the Summit,” says Caroline Jackson, Executive Vice President of the African CEO Media Corporation.
To build a stronger Ugandan economy, the Summit will foster collaboration through networking and partnerships, provide targeted training for investors and businesses, and encourage Ugandan stakeholders to develop improved business policies that promote inclusive and sustainable growth, resilient infrastructure, and a better return on investment for Ugandan businesses.
This Summit promises to be a valuable platform for Ugandan businesses and investors to connect, learn, and grow together.
