Police in Kakumiro District have arrested and detained a woman on allegations of mercilessly killing her 19 year-old co-wife with the help of her eldest son after a domestic disagreement.

The suspect is a resident of Entebbe Village, Kikoora parish, Kakindo Sub County in Kakumiro District.

TheUgandan has learnt from close sources to the family that the husband was involved in the brawl although it is not clear whose side he was on.

What is known however is that the victim Gloria Nsiimenta was killed and dumped in one of the houses in their extended home buildings.

According to the District Police commander of Kakumiro, Mr Hassan Mugerwa Katumba the suspects allegedly committed the offense in the wee hours of Monday night.

It is alleged that the suspects used a blunt object to slaughter, like a goat, Nsiimenta’s throat before dumping her body in the building.

Following the crime, the suspect’s husband and the eldest son escaped from the village and police has started a hunt for the duo.

Police has preferred murder charges against the key suspect contrary to Sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act of Uganda which states that any person who of malice aforethought causes the death of another person by an unlawful act or omission commits murder shall be sentenced to death on conviction.
