Kabugo bounces back as KCCA chairman

Local league reigning champions KCCA FC through the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has reappointed the city authority’s Deputy Director of treasury Julius Kabugo as club chairman until 2019.

Kabugo who has been acting as interim leader since April 18, 2015 when his first term ended is set to serve effective immediately with a new a nine-man permanent management board– as required by the law.

Kabugo’s incoming committee announced on Monday has directors Opio George Okello, Tom Lwanga, Ashley Lwanga, Kasirye Nganda and Davis Othieno as board secretary.

The new committee replaces Godfrey Kiseka (vice-chairman), Brenda Orishaba, George Opio, Edson Masereka, Paul Agaba, Edgar Kabulide, Edgar Bwambale, Collins Nizeye and Isaac Ssempebwa. They served beyond the mandated six-month period for an interim team.

During their reign, the club managed to win the league title, Fufa Super Cup, was runner-up and third in the Uganda Cup and CECAFA Kagame Cup respectively in 2015.
