Missing cash, an administrator under investigation, and employees going months without pay.
All this at Buganda Broadcasting Service (BBS) in Bulange Mengo, Kampala.
Its been confirmed that the BBS Terefayina CEO, Joseph Kigozi, is under investigation, accused of stealing money from the Luganda broadcaster for personal use.
TheUgandan first heard about this from a family member of a BBS employee who says the workers there have not been paid for two months.
The BBS board members who report to the owner and promoter; Kikuubo trader Freeman Kiyemba and the Buganda Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II respectively would not comment on that accusation at this time, but they say its all interconnected with their investigation into Kigozi’s possible criminal activities.
A source at BBS goes on to say it’s unclear at this time how long the possible criminal activities have been taking place.
On Tuesday, PMLDaily said that Kigozi had also been asked to step aside on forced leave to allow investigations into the disappearance of station money.
His suspension is to allow Uganda’s second biggest Luganda broadcaster ascertain how a chunk of advertising revenue disappeared.
However, unlike Kigozi who was only suspended, seven others were shown the door, including Jackson Bikangaga, Berndette Acago, and others we have only been able to identify as Doreen and Bogere, from sales department.
Kigozi, formerly the PR of NBS Television, left the country shortly after his suspension and is now cooling off the heat in Edmonton, Canada, with his family.
