Uganda’s Principal Judge Dr Yorokamu Bamwiine has with immediate effect transferred High Court Judge Wilson Musalu Museni who granted FDC’s former presidential candidate Col Dr Kizza Besigye bail from Luzira Prison, having been on remand for weeks on treason charges.

Besigye was charged with treason and remanded to Luzira prison in May this year before he was released on bail by judge Musene in July.

The orthodox Museveni will now start working in inaudible Mpigi District High Court which has just been created.

Mpigi HC has been formed alongside new ones in Mubende, Tororo, Rukungiri, Hoima Mukono, Iganga, and Luweero municipalities.

The Judiciary justified the numerous variations as a means for more effective delivery of services and conducted after consultation with the Chief Justice Bart Katureebe.
