Government critic and Makerere University academic Dr Stella Nyanzi is expected to appear in court today for hearing of her bail application with her mental examination battle going to the Constitutional Court.

Dr Nyanzi has been on remand since April 10 after she was arrested over offensive communication and cyber harassment after referring to President Museveni as a pair of buttocks.

By 10.21am, Dr. Nyanzi’s relatives waited in the court room at Buganda road Chief Magistrate’s court. She was expected at 9am.

Mr. Frank Mbaine, the PRO Uganda Prisons was unavailable for a comment about Dr. Nyanzi’s situation but yet to be verified reports claimed that Nyanzi got a medical emergency this morning.

But a visibly indisposed Dr Stella Nyanzi in photo above taken by city journalist Nicholas Bamulanzeki, arrived at Buganda Road court before 11:00am helped by female prison wardens.
