Police chief, General Kale Kayihura has assured the country that the rhetoric of slain Kenneth Akena Watmon’s alleged killer Matthew Kanyamunyu of being connected and protected are false.
On Wednesday while attending Akena’s burial at his his ancestral home in Gang Dyang, Pandwong Division, Kitgum Municipality, Gen Kayihura dismissed speculation that big shots in government were planning to sabotage the investigations into Akena’s shooting.
“His life was cut short in very unacceptable circumstances,” Kayihura told the mourners after a closed door meeting with Akena’s family adding, “There are lines of investigations we are following which we believe should lead us to establish what happened, who caused it to happen and ultimately enabling us to go to court so that justice can happen.”
“Police is going about it’s investigation professionally, seriously and with focus,” he said.
