New information from Police indicates that the identity of the unknown gunmen that killed two members of the same family in Dokolo district could be South Sudanese.
David Ongom Odong, the North Kyoga police spokesperson said the offciers investigating the murders discovered that the bullet cartridges found at the scene indicate that the bullets used were from South Sudan.
The deceased have been identified as Ramazan Olea and his 10-year-old son Ricky Odongo, both residents of Wigweng village in Dokolo. The injured is Olea’s 13-year-old girl daughter, Stella Atyang.
The gunmen stormed Olea’s home at about 8pm on Tuesday.
He said the two children saw two people, one of them carrying a gun, hiding around a mango tree in the compound who later shot and killed Olea and Odongo.
Ongom said a police canine has failed to track the assailants because of the heavy down pour last last night that interfered with their scent.
No arrest has been made so far.
