Uganda’s radio and television sweetheart Flavia Tumusiime has admitted that she received death threats following her collaborating with Police officers to arrest a man who was using her personality to con off unsuspecting admirers.
The shocking torrents of fear came last week after a former Teso Broadcasting Services (TBS) journalist Prince Ben Hakim Etesot reportedly hired snipers to shoot her for dead. Uganda Police confirmed they had beefed up security at the sexy media star’s work places and advised her on limiting her movements as they hunt down the assailant who reportedly said to have fled the country through Busia border to Kenya a few days ago.

‘This guy (Etesot) is wanted by Police for allegedly threatening to harm Miss Flavia,” a Police officer who privy to the manhunt revealed, adding He has been using her name to con members of the public. We are also investigating a tip that a top tycoon is involved’
Speaking about her ordeal, the Capital FM radio presenter explained: ‘I was horrified by the death threats. Etesot conned people claiming to be me, saying they should send ‘me’ money on mobile number 0705667385 for birthdays, lunch, books am selling, land am buying, airtime and all sorts of things, even claiming to be collecting Shs45m for a sick child.’
Revealing that she has been on the receiving end of the cruelty throughout the past months, the star added: ‘He started doing this around July this year and when I got to know about it and threatened to expose him, he threatened me.’
‘How long I have known the incident and what I had been going through when people approach me expecting replies I don’t have. Of course someone is watching you live your life and using every detail against you, whether it’s where you work or what you are wearing. When I was in the states for the UNAA convention someone came to capital when I returned claiming to have had a conversation with me and he had come with the money for construction that I asked for imagine.’
Interpol Kampala (International Police) Inspector of Police Chris Musana confirmed they were coordinating with their Kenyan counterparts to trace the assailant and added that any help in finding Etesot will be appreciated. If apprehended, Etesot could face up to 15 years in jail as his actions lie in the Offensive Communication or Section 24 (2) (a) of the Computer Misuse Act 2011.
Flavia has before received elements of Defamation and harassment on social media from Badi Music singer Alexander Bagonza aka A Pass but preferred not to purse charges against him while Apass unceasingly went ahead to post multiple love messages and dedicated his songs to her on top of sharing her pictures with various captions on different mediums.
