Minister for Trade, industry and cooperative, Honorable Amelia Kyambadde has asked investors who own commercial buildings to stop charging local business people in dollar rate.
Ms. Kyambadde says, the investors should start charging in local currencies to encourage local businesses people easily access space to carryout businesses.
The minister says, her ministry is also trying to engage these investors to discuss how best to implement this.
She was speaking during a meeting where she met Indian business community to discuss issues concerning with trade development among Uganda and India.
Chaos broke out in downtown Kampala on Wednesday, as angry traders keep shops locked protesting high rent charges, reportedly their rent fees have been doubled.
