The chairperson Equal Opportunities Commission Sylvia Muwebwa Ntambi blames the slow miserable economic and social growth in the country to the uncoordinated planning by government ministries and agencies.
According to Ntambi most of the ministries and departments are operating on their self desired plans which don’t match the agreed upon national development plan that reflects all the desires and wishes of Ugandans as documented by the national planning authority.
She further says that the continued poor performance among pupils and students, sorry state in the health sector, poor road network among other social needs provided by government is as a result of not following the national development plan.
She now challenges all ministries and departments to always respect the plans if citizens are to have better services from govt to have faster growth right from the grass root level.
She was speaking at the launch of the National Gender and Equity Budget Curriculum in Kampala.
