“We have heard of Roofings footprints in Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan and we are intrigued to have an up-close look at their human resource muscle, their production line, capacity and expertise,” said Chatte-Ruols who is also the Managing director for East Africa Business France.

The French delegation comprised of representatives from numerous oil and gas companies intending to identify exceptional Business trade partners/vendors and potential indigenous expertise particularly for the oil and gas sector.

Uganda is planning to build a 60,000 barrels per day oil refinery in Kabaale, Hoima District and is expected to start oil production that will peak at about 80,000 barrels per day.

Roofings Group has progressed well in participating in the supply of steel inputs to the infrastructural development of Uganda, these are Roads, Bridges, Power dams to mention but a few. With the upcoming much anticipated development of the oil and gas sector in Uganda, Roofings group would like to reiterate its capacity in terms of standards, best practice, quality and reliability to supply the steel requirements of the sector.

“Roofings, in 2010 commissioned a state of the art tube mill to produce electro welded tubes as well as a plate mill which can cut up to 6mm thickness with lengths of up to 8 meters. These investments were made in light of the anticipated oil and gas activities. Through engagements like these, Roofings will identify other areas of value addition to the sector, which can in turn ensure that the multiplier effect of local content enhancement is felt and trickles down to ensure economic transformation as per vision 2040,” emphasized Oliver Lalani the ED – Roofings Group.

A French Delegation that is in Uganda to look into Oil and Gas this week visited Roofing’s $145 million Namanve plant.
