From a humble beginning in Jinja district in 1992, FINCA Uganda is this  year celebrating 25 years of existence under the category of microfinance deposit taking (MDI).

The bank’s founders and staff will be a time of reminiscing the fondest memories of what started out as a village banking microfinance (a.k.a women’s NGO) 25 years ago to a recognized financial institution that FINCA Uganda is today.

According to Mr. Simon Ahimbisibwe, head of marketing, FINCA’s journey has not been smooth but nonetheless been impactful to Ugandans.

“This year, 2017 FINCA Uganda marks 25 years of providing impactful financial services to the communities in Uganda,” Mr Ahimbisibwe said in a statement.

Our birth in Jinja district wasn’t easy but FINCA Uganda has since grown in leaps and bounds to its current position of being a formidable financial institution,” he added. 40,000.

As such, two of FINCA’s founding partners –Mr. Rupert Scofield and Mr. John Hatch are in Kampala today as part of their routine trips that are aimed at keeping connections with clients, staff and other stakeholders.

Currently, FINCA Uganda operates a network of 27 branches with a workforce of over 500 staff and a client base of more than 140,000.
