Kizza Besigye laments UBC’s failure to show Uganda Cranes games

Dr Besigye's silence on the story raises belief that the dialogue could forthcoming

If you have followed him on social media, four time presidential candidate Kizza Besigye is a politician who never allows stories to go without his comment, especially when he story is controversial.
For instance when NTV reported that his party, Forum for Democratic Change was planning to amend the constitution to allow him and other senior party members, Dr Besigye was quick to trash the story.
He immediately took to his twitter and posted: “I’ve heard this for first time on NTV! I don’t support it & if changed, I’ll never run 4 FDC president! @ntvuganda,” tweeted the son of Kifeefe.

It is believed that the two will hold talks

However, on the story of agreeing to hold talks with president Museveni, Dr Besigye seems to be calculative, as if something indeed is going on behind the scenes to make the talks possible.
For now, only party members have come out to dismiss reports that Dr Besigye is set to dialogue with Mr Museveni.
Deputy Secretary General of the FDC Harold Kaija has for instance said that Dr Besigye is a transparent and democratic man who will do things in the open.

Similarly, Mr Frank Tumwebaze the information minister and technology has indicated that “we as government do not know about the talks”. It should be noted that Mr Tumwebaze is one of the closest ministers to the president having served as the presidency minister and now holding portfolios previously held by two individuals.

President Museveni has always been open to talks albeit with no conditions

However his unawareness of the dialogue between his boss and opposition leader Dr Besigye is understandable since close sources indicate that the process to hold dialogue has been kept away from many whther close to either Museveni or Besigye.
From our understanding of Besigye and how he is using social media, he would have dismissed the story. In fact, you could compare his awareness of the power in social media to that of President of the USA Donald Trump.
For now, we shall wait for Dr Besigye who is currently out of the country to either confirm or dismiss the story about the imminent talks which Ugandans are excited about.
