Majority of Ugandan businesses and individuals are struggling with affording real estate. In an effort to expose these Ugandans to affordable and innovative ways of real estate construction and financing; brainchild Burson-Marsteller-Uganda’s most awarded Public Relations, Digital & Experiential agency, Quicket- Uganda’s leading online ticket company and Riley Media, a renown media and production company, today launch the Second Edition of Innovation Series which will provide a platform for experts, individuals, policy makers and businesses to discuss the aforementioned subject.
Innovation Series, is a series of innovation thought-leadership-events aimed at bringing business & government leaders, as well as entrepreneurs under one roof to discuss topical issues around product, service and business innovation, which affect the strategic growth of organizations.
The second event will take place on April 26th, 2018, at 8:00am, at the plush Pearl of Africa Hotel, in Kampala under the theme: Making Real Estate Ownership a Reality: Practical Innovations for Uganda.
It will attract up to 500 individuals, business leaders, policy makers, and potential customers from different sectors of the economy with keen interest in real estate development and ownership.
“We are excited to unveil the Second Edition of Innovation Series which focuses on the real estate sector in Uganda. This edition is important to Ugandans because building homes and commercial property is a great challenge for many especially the youth who constitute the bulk of our population,” Mr. Walter Wafula, the Business Unit Head-PR, brainchild Burson-Marsteller noted.
He added that, “For this edition, we have invited select experts, investors, and policy makers in the real estate sector to come share their experiences and knowledge on innovative and affordable ways of building homes and property so that participants can learn from them and make a difference in their lives,”.
Confirmed speakers at the event are; Mr. Mathias Katamba, CEO Housing Finance Bank, Mr. Joseph Nuwamanya Co- Founder, Creation Architects, Mr. Arthur Mukembe, Regional Director, RE/MAX, Mr. Kyewalabye Male, CEO Buganda Land Board and Mr. Juuko Kwagala, Director, Innovation Consortium. The event will also be attended by policy makers from; KCCA, Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development.
The event will attract key players in the real estate industry who will share ideas on the realm of real estate development with the aim of meeting the demands of the growing population through innovative ways of construction.

According to the Knight Frank H2 2017 Market Report, 75% of the new residential developments in Uganda were in the leafy and prime residential suburbs of Kololo, Nakasero and Naguru, and 80% of these developments are 3 bed apartments with a 70% demand increase versus H1 of 2017. On the commercial front, the industry witnessed a 10% increase in enquiries for Grade A office space in H2 compared to H1 2017. Demand continues to be dominated (85%) by organizations looking to relocate or expand, and start-up organizations (15%) with most being companies and consultancy firms affiliated to the oil sector.
