Ex-NRM Kisoro MP dies after a short strange illness

Persistently known for her silence in the August House, socialworker, Eudia Kwizera, the former Woman Member of Parliament for Kisoro has dead, in her 60s.

Ms Kwizera died at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala this morning.

A family statement said the parliamentary greenhorn – who spent 5 years as an MP – died after a short illness.

Eudia Kwizera devoted her life to public service in Kisoro, in Uganda, and beyond,” Miriam Tumuheirwe Katabariza, a sister to the deceased said.

“She made an enormous contribution in many spheres. She will be much missed both publicly, and more importantly personally, by her family and many friends.”

Kwizera’s family does not divulge details on the cause of her death.

Preparations are underway for the deceased’s burial later this weekend Rubuguri in Kirundo Sub County Kisoro district.

She served as the Kisoro district Woman Member of Parliament for five years. The member of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party, lost her parliamentary seat to Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi in 2011.
