Opposition supporters on Monday went online during a heated cyber war with ruling party-NRM opponents to prove that their 2016 presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye was officially invited by Ghana’s newly elected President Nana Akuffo-Addo in Accra, to grace his swearing-in ceremony held at the Black Star square in Accra. Besigye flew out of the country last week with FDC President Gen. Mugisha Muntu.
“They invited him and not Museveni because they recognize him as the elected President and he will be returning together with Gen. Muntu this week,” said Kaija.
Besigye is expected to hold a press a press conference to address the media when he returns back in the country.
They held a lengthy meeting early today with President Akuffo-Addo in Accra, Ghana closed to media but the sources said that the two leaders discussed a range of issues.
