Western superpowers European Union delegation has spoken to President Museveni’s government to speed up full investigations in a timely, inclusive and transparent manner into the recent Kasese attacks which left over 100 people dead scores injured and more than 150 arrested.
The attacks also led to the arrest of King Charles Wesley Mumbere of the Rwenzururu kingdom. He is now facing murder charges.

In a letter seen by TheUgandan, The EU said they were: ‘noting the follow-up of investigations by the authorities, and the investigations being carried out by the Parliamentary Defence and Internal Affairs Committee and the Uganda Human Rights Commission,” part of the letter read.
The committee chaired by Mityana Woman MP Judith Nabakooba and has for weeks now been holding closed door probes into the killings.
The EU added: “We encourages full investigations in a timely, inclusive and transparent manner, according to due process and the rule of law. The EU looks forward to the outcome of these investigations being made public.
“The EU also stresses the importance – and stands ready to assist – in addressing the root causes of conflict by all concerned through dialogue.

The powerful EU Member States present in Uganda are; European Union Delegation, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom.
