Opposition kingpin Dr. Kizza Besigye has been ridiculed on social media after he shared a letter said to be President Museveni’s explanation for eviction of 25 Members of Parliament (MPs) from Parliament on September 27 that is fake according to State House.
The four-time presidential candidate on Saturday on social networking site Twitter using his verified account the letter that some ‘crafty’ person purporting to be Mr Museveni ‘replied’ Ms Kadaga’s letter.
Typical Mr M7: As “Commander-in-Chief”, convenes Security meeting but claims not to know what it decided &did! Work with/4 him at yr risk!! pic.twitter.com/cSM8He4cH6

“Mr Don Wanyama, the Senior Press Secretary to the President, said the public should, therefore, disregard it as fake news.
“I gather most of you are inquiring about this letter purportedly written by the President to the Speaker. It is a fake. It is a concoction,” Mr. Wanyama stated.
“Please disregard it with the due contempt it deserves. Concerned authorities will get those behind these forgeries and bring them to account.”
Though ‘fake letter’ suggests Ms Kadaga attended the NSC meeting, which if it did take place, was between September 25 and September 27, it is clear from the NSC Act that she is not part of the members of the NSC.
Many are questioning the Forum for Democratic Change’s 2016 presidential election candidate and his handlers’ not verifying the letter before sharing it to tens of thousands of his followers.
Political and media entrepreneur Andrew Mwenda was first on the blocks telling off Dr. Besigye as lacking the qualities of leadership.
He said; “Why do you believe this letter to be authentic? Can u first verify before you arrive at conclusions? You need to learn to be a leader!”
“The reply was too fast people’s president. Verifying the authenticity should have come first,” a user Sekyanzi also attacked Besigye.
“Stop being too Opposition minded …. “ a one Mbazira Mansoul commented.
Besigye after realizing the mishap tried to make a comeback claiming: ‘Most NRM Junta things are fake; even regime is fake! Content remains TYPICAL MUSEVENI’s!”
Kadaga’s letter
On 23 October, the Speaker of Parliament, Ms Rebecca Kadaga, who, it seems, in reflection, regrets the undignified eviction of the MPs, wrote to President Museveni.
She asked Mr Museveni to identify the “unsolicited forces” that raided the Chamber to eject the MPs Ms Kadaga had suspended from three sittings for unruly conduct.
