Ecobank customers to watch final Formula One race of 2018

Lucky Ugandans are set to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of watching the world’s premier motorsport event from the front row seats at prestigious Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Ecobank Uganda announced this week that 5 lucky customers  to the last race of the Formula One calendar in an all-expenses-paidtrip.

The Ecobank promotion will have five lucky Ugandans get an opportunity to watch the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The Pan African bank launched a Transact and Win promotion geared at driving utilization of the bank’s state of the art mobile app under the tag line “Putting Power at your fingertips”.

The Yas Marina Circuit is the venue for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final on the Formula One calendar. It is situated on Yas Island, with some of the best views in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.

To enter the draw, the lucky winner will be selected based on number of transactions done using the application. The bank currently has a data base of 85,000 customers using the Ecobank mobile app.

Speaking at the function, The Ecobank Head of Consumer banking- Nuhu Kanyike emphasized the cashless future.  “We are moving into a future where we no longer need to carry cash for convenience”.

The Ecobank mobile app cuts across all the 33 countries in Africa.  One can access their funds across Africa using one platform.

Ecobank boss Clement Dodoo is happy that Formula One’s popularity in the country has steadily grown because of television (all races are screened on SuperSport) and the Ecobank promotion can only heighten interest in the sport, that also has an association in the country recognised by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs in Uganda (FMU).

The Managing Director- Clement Dodoo urged everyone to embrace the Ecobank digital movement in order to grow Africa. “Ecobank is geared towards the economic transformation of Africa.” He said. “The quickest way to do this is through embracing innovations in the digital sphere which bring the world together as one global village”.

The campaign is scheduled to run for up to 1st November ahead of the race in Abu Dhabi.
