Medical interns have called off their strike after negotiations with the government and the ministry of health.
Last week, medical interns announced that they had laid down their tools demanding the provision of essential medicines and medical supplies and prompt payment of their monthly allowances, among other demands.
Dr. Robert Lubega the intern President has told journalists that there’s been positive response from the ministry of health and all stakeholders concerned.
He reveals that medicines and supplies have been delivered to several hospitals like Hoima and Naguru hospital, and funds for payment of their January and February allowances have been dispatched to all hospital accounts.
