Deus Bukenya forms a timely boost for Vipers to advance in Africa

Reigning Uganda Cup kings Vipers  on Saturday toiled in their bid to eliminate Volcan De Moron of Comoros in the Caf Confederations Cup.

Vipers making their second successive appearance on the continent but in a different competition, needed midfielder Deus Bukenya to score from a free kick in the 29th minute to keep their hopes alive after falling to a Kamal Djabir goal in the 15th minute at Stade De Moroni on the Indian Ocean island nation. The Ugandans held on until the final whistle to secure a sweet draw and advance.

Vipers were eliminated by Nigerian side Enyimba in the preliminary round but now will face South Africa’s Platinum Stars who aslo eliminated Uniao Desportiva do Songo.
