Dans Kumapesa, real name, Dan Muwanguzi who produced local hits such as Musawo by Winnie Nwagi, Mbozi za malwa by Bebe Cool and Sauti Sol among others has died aged 20.
Idris Musuuza commonly known as Eddy Kenzo has led tributes to the fallen producer, who died at home in Makindye, a Kampala suburb on Saturday and has been for over three months battling with the injuries inflicted on by thugs who beat him when he was moving from work heading home.
In a short statement Kenzo says:
Gone to soon my brother DANZ KUMAPESA Bambi mukama bwatyo bwageze munange. Rest in peace Brother. Mungu akusonyiwe ebyakusobako nga omuntu. I’m speechless I thought you gona come back naye kale tewali kyakola. R.I.P Danie. You will always be remembered.
Kenzo and Danz Kumapeesa were said to have the differences over an alleged affair between the producer and the Stamina singer’s live-in wife Rema Namakula. Kenzo’s accelerated stardom in his music journey affected his love life with Rema, close confidants say so she would run to Kumapesa’s arms which infuriated Kenzo and his Big Talent Entertainment minders. To make amends after the producer fought for his life at Nsambya Hospital, Kenzo reportedly paid the remaining bill balance of Shs 1.8m for Kumapesa to go have cheap treatment from his mother’s house.
Danz Kumapesa’s family have also thanked everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support.

Rema also added her own message of sorrow.
Musawo singer Winnie Nwagi, has shared his sadness at the news.
Bebe Cool also shared his sadness in a tribute tweet.
