Criminal summons issued against Ex-UPDF Lieutenant and Masindi MP Kasumba

Bujenje Constituency legislator LT (Rtd) Patrick Kasumba who is battling alleged fraud perpetuated in transfer of land is on the run.

The embattled Member of Parliament also a lawyer on Monday jumped bail and was a no-show at the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court.

The court instead heard that Mr. Kasumba was attending to crucial duties of serving the nation but he is willing to attend court at the next session that has been set on December 22 this year.

State Attorney, Mr Jonathan Muwaganya riposted: ‘For court to release Kasumba passport, did not mean that he jumps bail .. court should supersede state duties.

Mr Kasumba’s four co-accused persons are charged with alleged personation, obtaining registration by false pretences, conspiracy to defraud and uttering a false document in regard to a building on Plot 1 Martin Road Kampala.

The complainants says that Ms Muyanja, Ms Kamya and Kayima presented themselves to the Office of the President, DAPCB, Commissioner Land Registration, saying that they were entitled by operation of law as widows and son respectively of the Late Col Drago Nyanzi.

The trial continues.
