A new look contingent of 23 Uganda Cranes players and officials left for Ethiopia on Thursday afternoon aheadof an international friendly match this Saturday at the Hawassa International stadium.
Coach Micho Sredojevic’s men last played a match on March 23 this year. But that was only a 1-1 friendly with Kenya in Machakos.
To Ethiopia, 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 5 strikers left Entebbe International Airport. Midfielder Crizestom Ntambi will be found in Addis Ababa.
The Cranes will train for a further four days in Senegal after playing the hosts before taking an hour and a half flight to Cape Verde to start yet another Nations Cup on June 10th.
Historical skipper Geoffrey Massa retired from international football, injured goalkeeper Robert Odongkara but there is no place for Kizito Luwagga who ruled himself out, US-based Mike Azira, Vietnam based duo Moses Oloya and Godfrey Kizito, inactive Tony Mawejje Dennis Guma and Yunus Ssentamu.
