Former Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye says his frequent appearances in Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court have affected him financially and cost him a lot of time, hence calling for adjustments from the authorities.
He said “it’s not fair to keep coming to this court only to learn about endless investigations. Your Worship, it’s costly both in time and resources moving to this court over charges that have no merit.”
Today, Besigye through his lawyer Ernest Kalibala petitioned High Court seeking to harmonize his appearances less than a month after the opposition kingpin vowed not to return to Nakawa court where he was charged with treason. His defiance was due to the state saying it was still investigating the case since May last year when he was arrested.

February 27 as the date when Dr Besigye is expected to return to Nakawa court.
Besigye was arrested in May last year on the eve of president Yoweri Museveni’s swearing in and airlifted to Moroto District where he was charged with treason and remanded to Moroto government prison. However, he was later transferred to Kampala, charged afresh Nakawa Court and remanded to Luzira prison before being released on bail by the High Court.
