In a reward promo launched early this week, five out of hundreds of customers who took part in the Cente Visa promotion were rewarded with Ugx 200,000 shillings each for their participation.
The digital campaign which was launched by Centenary Bank on 10 th February was aimed at
giving back to customers and as well encourage them to use the Cente Visa card services for alternative uses other than withdrawing money from the Automated Teller Machine (ATMs).
Speaking during the prize handover ceremony, Allen Ayebare, Centenary Bank’s Chief Manager Corporate Affairs and Communication said that, “With Visa customer are able to access a range payment options which include paying for health & restaurants bills, shopping in supermarkets, refuelling, online shopping, among others uses which are all intended to offer convenience for our customers.”
While thanking all the participants that took part in the promotion, Allen urged the bank’s customers to embrace the use of CenteVisa card services as way of harnessing the continually evolving changes in how people do business, adding that, “We believe it is in our best interest
and that of the economy that an evident surge in the uptake of cashless transactions like visa, loans on phone, centemobile, agent banking among others is seen.”
Mr. Godfrey Tukakira, one of the banks customers who took part in the promotion and won thanked the bank for making his Valentine’s day colourful through the CenteVisa promo and said taking part in the campaign has paid had offered an opportunity for him to have an experience of a life time with his partner.
Another winner speaking under anonymity, said that, “I used my CenteVisa card to buy medication for my mother and I was surprised when the bank called to inform me that I had won a valentines package,” exclaiming, “What better way to celebrate love than being rewarded anonymously for doing something good for someone you love.”
Visa card services have been present in Uganda for close to a decade now, however, not many people have embraced it’s use across the different platforms it operates both within and outside the country. We still witness people at the airport traveling with thousands of dollars for shopping for business or leisure despite the payment channels available to them.
A total of 10 winners were drawn. Of these 5 are bank customers including: Ms. Dorcus Nagitta, Ms. Grace Apio, Mr. Denis Byaruhanga, Mr. Godfrey Tukakira, and Ms. Daphine Nkwazi, while the other 5 are Centenary Bank staff.
